back on track? not yet but soon.

Hello. Well it has been a great 3 weeks off of school. But now its time to go back on track, which means back on track for me too. (dang it, i was having so much fun). Schedules are being forced again, chores are becoming a hassle again and waking up early is gonna kill me again.

Before we went back to our regularly scheduled crazy, we decided to spend the weekend doing nothing but fun things together. Being in a house full of girls (yes sometimes daddy is too) Shopping is a fun thing to do. So Saturday we started shopping. We got some things for our house like a juicer and some other nick nacks, we also got the new Rhonda Byrne book, The Power. The Power is an addition to The Secret . Aaron and I like it a lot. We like to have our "story time" at night before we go to sleep. I read as he listens. its a nice "couples time" as well. this book has a lot of quotations about love in it, I am thinking about erasing all the stuff on our chalk wall behind our bed and rewriting all these quotes instead. Its uplifting, and perfect for the bedroom. We caught a bunch of movies and continued thru on to Sunday with our shopping adventures. However, Sunday morning we all got dressed up and went to church (Aaron's first time in almost a century) for Baby Amaiah's blessing. Unfortunately we were late and showed up just after the blessing. But it was so much fun to see Aaron all dressed up. It was a nice surprise. Who knew he looked so good.

Monday was Labor Day, we made plans to take our monthly road trip up to Idaho, so we got in a little bit of shopping before we got on the freeway and got some road trip music, which was cheesy love song CD's, what can i say, im on a love trip right now. But then we went to sports authority to get Aaron his last Birthday present. Yes he knows what his presents are, unfortunately but (insert evil laugh here) not all of them. He had to pick out the running shoes for his birthday to get the exact ones. I know nothing about them or how they fit. then he has socks that he loves and i just happened to get them while we were all shopping. but one present he doesn't know about was something the girls snuck and paid for while he was too busy with the guy helping him out with shoes. and then something is being delivered to my house today for him too..... giggle giggle More about Aarons birthday will be later. so lets get back to this road trip. We go to Malad Idaho once a month. Sometimes as a family, sometimes just one of us, sometimes just 2 or 3 of us. But somebody always will go once a month. Malad is a community of about 4,100. Small town. So why do we go there 12 times a year at least? Well Money is always a good reason to travel about 2 hours for right? WE are lottery playin addicts. we spend about $40 each month buying lottery tickets, but most of the time we break even. When we get there, we turn in our lotto tickets and 9 times out of 10 we win anywhere from about 6 to 125 bucks. this time we won $9 and i spent it on scratch tickets. with those scratch tickets i won at least $2.00 off each one. i won $42.00 off scratch tickets alone. so we broke even and then some. I love winning money! The 2 hour trip there and back flew by due to the jammin tunes we picked up. Classic love songs.

So now that we got all of the fun out of our systems, Tuesday was the first day back to school on track. Which means we need to get back on track too. Tuesday morning, i woke up and looked at the clock thinking "i have 5 minutes to spare to sleep, i will feel better with 5 more minutes" Which i really messed up my morning doing that. I wake up usually at 7:00 get the girls up and send them down to eat breakfast. then I hop in the shower, get dressed, hair, makeup then run downstairs and put lunches together and make my coffee.  I started making the girls lunches and realised there was something missing. so i went thru my mental checklist of their lunch. Water-check, sandwich-check, apple-check, jello-check. hmmmmm well i didn't realise until later what was missing. Yogurt and carrots. It was so much easier just sending a check to school for lunch  but now that the prices have gone up to almost $2.00 per student per day. that ends up being more in a week on lunches than mine and aarons lunches for a week.  So we decided to tally up what it cost to put together their lunches. at first, we got the jello cups from the store, the uncrustables, the gogurts, the pre packaged carrots, apple sauce cups and juice drinks. this came to about the same cost as paying for school lunches just a little tiny bit cheaper. So I went out ab purchased some lunch tupaware and started making my own sandwiches (with my own made jam), purchased the store brand Jello mix and poored that into the little tupaware cups, got the store brand big jar of apple sauce and poored that into the little cups too, purchased the big thing of store brand yogurt and put those into the little cups, and then purchased a big bag of baby carrots and the store brand of apple juice with no added sugar. All in all fairly healthy, well at least healthier than the things i was putting in the lunches before, and that would get them by for about 2 weeks all for the same cost as one week of school lunch. so now I have tried to make it a little bit easier and I get the Gogurt and throw that in the freezer, fill the water bottles up half way with the same juice but then fill the other half way up with water. actually its more of 3/4 juice 1/4 water. then i get the un-crustables (just because to make sandwiches for 4 people in the morning and or night before is kinda crazy with a time crunch and there is no way i can afford to loose any more sleep. :) then i just do an apple and the jello packet method and some baby carrots.

Aarons birthday is on Friday. I will tell you what I got him that he knows about but you will have to wait to hear what else I got him. I got him some new running shoes, some new socks (his favorite kind that are only sold at one store) and then 3 other things. I might stop getting him stuff but i might not, there are some other things that he has mentioned that he wants, i just gotta find out how to get them under his radar. We wanted to celebrate his birthday on Friday night but he has to take the girls up to their Mothers for the weekend. which sucks that we cant make an argument like "well its their dads birthday he should have them" because her birthday is the same damn day, just about 90 years older, no, not really, but close. So we are going to be celebrating it on Saturday night after he gets off work. we are going to have a little dinner at a restaurant. I will post about that next week.
