geocaching and the police

So I have a blogger that I absolutely love reading and watching(she is a well known vlogger too) her name is Bridgette Dale. She recently posted a video blog about geocaching. I was instantly intrigued. So I looked it up following the links she posted and did some research of my own. Basically for those of you who actually read my blog and haven't heard of it before, its kind of like a worldwide interactive scavenger hunt. On a website called geocaching.com there are several caches (items that hold items and logs) that are posted with a gps coordinate. You put the coordinate into your gps, track it down and find the cache. In the cache there are items that you can trade with an item of your own that is worth equal or lesser value, there is also a log in which you write the date and your geocaching I'd in. Some caches have only have a log in it. They range in sizes from a 5 gallon bucket to a micro tube. They are hard to find and not noticeable to the publics naked eye.

Aaron and I went on our first geocaching hunt last thursday night to one that was located just 100 meters from our house. We were unable to find it so we went home. The next day after the girls got out of school we went on another hunt. This time we were able to find 5 out of 6 including the one aaron and I had attempted to find the night before. Its loads of fun and great skills for the girls to learn too.

I, along with aaron, have been able to find about twenty sense then.

So today when the girls called me to tell me they were home from school aspen had asked if she and I could go tonight after her homework and chores were all done and of course I said absolutely!

Well needless to say after coming home to find the police at my house there was no scavenger hunt tonight. See, the girls were at there mothers house this weekend and left their phone charger there. So we have my old blackberry at home set up as a home line and is never used, so I told them this morning that the phone was only to be used to call me when they got home. Blackberrys have a keypad lock on them and I made sure it was unlocked so they could use it. So after they called me they got started on their homework and something happened and autumn was going to call aaron to tattle on aspen but the phone was locked. Well, when you go to unlock it, it brings up a prompt with 3 options. Unlock, emergency call, cancle. Well she pressed the emergency call. And instead of telling the 911 dispatcher that it was a mistake they ended up talking to her and chatting it up. Well aaron got home and they hung up on the dispatcher. Well as we all may know if you hang up on 911 they call back. The girls didn't answer. So thepolice showed up at our house. Needless to stay aaron was not happy and the geocaching hunt did not happen.

Well that's all for now. I am posting this from my phone and I am unable to review what I wrote, and my mind is kind of an all over the place track when writing. So I will revew what I wrote when I get on an actual computer tomorrow. But tell me this, have you experienced geocaching or kids calling 911?

Talk to you soon.
