My favorite Easter:
Red Rocks in Saint George with my grandparents! My grandma made egg coloring from boiled roots and then we all hunted eggs at the Red Rocks! I remember this Easter fairly vividly in my mind. I was only around the same age that Aspen is now, so some parts may have slipped threw the cracks. But i think around Easter time I will share that story with you, but not now.
Last year, Easter was later in the month of April. This year it falls on the first weekend of April. Also which happens to be the same weekend as my first wedding anniversary with my hubby.
Aaron and I were married April 3rd 2009 at the courthouse. Nothing fancy dancy. We were accompanied by our family's; my parents and sisters, his parents and his sister, plus the girls. We then went to eat at Olive Garden afterwords. It was a rainy day and it was so wonderful!
So what do you do for your anniversary if you didn't have a big wedding, your car is sucking up what is left in your checking account, and it falls on the day before Easter? Its kind of a lot of stress to think up things.
Facts:
- Your first wedding anniversary is celebrated because it means you got through one of the most difficult years of marriage.
- Traditionally the first wedding anniversary gifts are made of paper.
- A Modern first wedding anniversary symbol is a Clock.
- The Gemstone associated with the first year anniversary is Fresh Water Pearls and the flowers appropriate for this year are Pansies.
This is what we have thought up:
- Go pick out a cake at one of our favorite cake places "Nothing Bunt Cakes"and enjoy it as if it was the top of our wedding cake (which we didn't have one)
- Have a fun time doing something we both love to do (I would tell ya but it's a little embarrassing-no, its nothing adult rated)
- Going to eat at Olive Garden
And that's all I have so far. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated!
